Despite not being with his escort (having snuck away from it earlier) David has started to walk through the unforgiving desert. Fascinated by the strange plant life in this blistering sand pile. He walks towards a single tree that is like the palm trees of earth. Amazed he says out loud, "God Pandora is so awesome!" Quick to realize what he has done he covers his mouth with both hands thinking Shit! I really shouldn't have done that. His stance became more cautious as he swore he could hear the breathing of an animal. He turned around; swallowing his fear and staring straight in front of him at a Thanator. His first instinct was to run, not wanting to compromise his instincts he bolted towards a sand dune.
Sweat dashing from the side of his face trailed behind him as he ran for his dear life. Not knowing if it was behind him he looked back, only to see it had now descended upon him. It grabbed his backpack and flung him around mercilessly. Scrambling to find some sort of way to get out of this mess he unbuckled the strap keeping his backpack on him. He was flung into the blistering sand; it's hot surface burning his skin. Adrenaline pumping through his veins; David stood up in front of the Thanator and pulled out his Sonic Emitter. The beast was getting ready to pounce when he pulled the release valve. A piercing, screeching siren blared out from the small device. The Thanator cringed and backed away slowly from the harsh and unnatural sound.
He had been holding the Emitter up in front of him for five minutes now. The Thanator had just fled into the desert sands. Exhausted and out of water he ran to his backpack, trying to find some undamaged equipment. Scrambling to find something he pulls out a partially full water bottle, a turban, and a combat knife. He puts on the Turban, wrapping the rough cloth around his head. Attaching the knife, and water on his belt signaled his long journey back had started.
20 Minutes Later
He had been walking for what seemed to be a Year. In this unforgiving terrain he had already seemingly lost all chances to survive. His Water bottle was empty and his combat knife wasn't sharp. He managed to only scrape a small amount of water from the wildlife but he knew he wouldn't last long.
